We are about to leave Metung to drive north after spending a wonderful two days here.
We arrived on Sunday in time for lunch and then went for a trip in the boat to Metung, and a walk on Kangaroo Island where we met lots of friendly roos. Then we had kangaroo steak for supper which was very tasty.
On Monday Rob took us out in the boat to 90 mile beach, after a breakfast BBQ! On the way we saw Pelicans, a Sea Eagle, and dolphins. After mooring the boat we went for a walk along the beach which was deserted. It is still bright sunshine and 17C. here, so not much different to Summer in the UK. In the afternoon we drove to Buchan to the limestone caves with Tig and her 2 children (Felix and Toby). Robert had a great time making Felix laugh. We came home in time for a BBQ supper.
Now we are going to have a long day in the car (7 1/2 hrs) driving to Jervis Bay, which is just south of Sydney.

Did I tell you about my old atlas of my grandfather (Birgitta:greatgrandfather) Hannah and Robert(greatgreatgrandfather)Paul (greatgrandfather in law). The title is "SCHOOL-ATLAS VAN ALLE DEELEN DER AARDE. Opgedragen aan zijne excellentie den Heere Graaf J. van den Bosch". De Heere Graaf J. van den Bosch died in 1844, so my atlas is very old. On the back of the frontcover my grandfather wrote his name, profession and adres: A.v.d.Watering, Rijksambtenaar, Robert Fruinstraat 41 B, Rotterdam.
On the map of Australia there are only a few small towns. Around Melbourne I can find Geelong,Seymour, Mitchell and Alberton, all in Australië Felix. There is another small town, Albury upon the river......Murray! Going to the North I can find Kaap Howe, Eden, Dromedary Beach, Bateman Baai and Jervis Baai. Jervis Baai the place where I hope you will be now (21 July 19.00 hr). These places are in another part of Australië:Nieuw-Zuid-Walis.

lieve schatten wat een belevenissen allemaal. wel leuk om te volgen. wij hebben hier een schattig hondje wat ons de hele dag volgt. olly is buiten zinnen als we thuis komen, en wij moeten hem tot stilte manen anders worden de buren wakker om 12 uur. Ik weet niet of hem nog ooit kunnen missen, we zullen zien. nu kijken hoe je dit verstuurt. heel veel liuefs van mij mam
ReplyDeleteJaja, ik vind het heel leuk bij Opa en Oma maar jullie moeten me na de vakantie wel weer ophalen hoor want ik wil dan weer met Hannah en Robert spelen!!!
